All drivers must be at least 25 – 70 years of age and have had a UK Driving Licence for 1 or more years and 2 or more years for EU/ International Driving License.

We accept all Driver’s License from the UK and EU. International Licenses must be approved prior to vehicle rentals.

Drivers must bring their valid and original Driving Licence alongside one additional form of identification dated in the last 3 months for address verification. This includes documents such as a utility bill or bank statement. Drivers must also bring their National Insurance number. This allows us to check their current points on the DVLA website.

You can rent a vehicle as long as you have less than 6 penalty points on your licence. These points include those for minor offences, such as speeding offences. Drivers must not have any of the following codes for convictions in the past 5 years:
All DD, All DR/DG, All UT, All AC, MS50, All CD, All MR, All IN, All BA, MS90, or TT99.
If you have more than 6 points and/or any of the stated conviction codes on your licence, please contact us so we can confirm with our insurers that you may hire a vehicle.

All of our vehicles are fully insured and meet all of the minimum requirements under the Road Traffic Act. Under our terms and conditions of hire, you are responsible for our insurance excess of £1,500.00 if the vehicle is involved in an accident while you are renting our vehicle.

Yes, you can reduce the insurance excess from £1,500.00 to £750.00 for an additional £10.00 per day of your renting period.

We require a deposit to be taken by card upon booking. The remaining balance can be paid by cash and all major bank cards.

We do not allow our vehicles to be driven outside of the United Kingdom.

Yes we do, and it varies based upon days.

For Van Hires:

• 1 day – 250 miles limit.
• 1 week – 750 miles limit.
• 2 weeks – 1500 miles limit.
• 1 month – 2500 miles limit.

Extra miles are charged at 25p per mile.

For Car Hires:

• 1 week – 500 miles limit.
• 1 month – 2000 miles limit.

Extra miles are charged at 35p per mile.

The price quoted includes insurance cover for one driver, however you can include additional drivers for an extra £5 per driver.

The vehicles will have varying levels of fuel, but you will be expected to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when you collected it. Failure to do this will result in a further charge to cover the difference.

Of course, we are happy for the vehicle to be returned at any time before the end of your agreed hire time but we regret that we are unable to refund any of the unused hire time.

We apply a charge based on the additional time the vehicle has been used and returned to us, unless approved by the management beforehand.

As the driver, you are responsible for the cost of all penalties incurred whilst the vehicle is on hire. We will not assume responsibility or liability in such cases. You must ensure all tickets, fines and penalties are paid for. This includes but is not limited to bridge, tunnel and congestion charges. If these charges are incurred by Mansfield Van Hire, you will be charged with the full fee including an admin fee.

In the event of an incident (e.g. accident, theft or damage to the vehicle) you must do the following:
Inform the Police immediately and obtain an Incident or Crime Number. Notify us as soon as you possibly can. Obtain names, addresses, contact telephone numbers of all third parties and witnesses and vehicle registration numbers of all third parties and supply them when you call. Take photographs if possible.
